Why roofs can leak and what we look for during our Roof Leak Detection service:
Old Roofs: Leaks simply start to show up inside a house or business when a roof has passed its usable life. We find both the number of times you experience a leak will increase. As well as, unfortunately, the amount of water that leaks!
Storm-Damaged Roofs: Whenever heavy rain becomes a major flood that’s when rain can get into cracks in a roof and cause major damage. We find water will soak underneath the top surface of your roof, into the roof decking. This allows a weakening of the roof so even tiny cracks in a shingle will start to let water in. Plus, whenever there is a lot of moisture in your roof system, this will lead to mold in your home and business.
Faulty Rain Gutters: We find whenever our client’s roofs do not discharge collected water through rain gutters correctly, the water stays trapped. Here the roof underlayment will be affected, especially becoming soaked. This causes another way for water to migrate into your home or business.
Wind-Damaged Roof: Whenever we have wind storms and hurricanes in Florida strong enough to bend trees we know there will be roof damage. Either your shingles will blow if not properly installed. Or we see a lot of damage from tree branches hitting shingles and causing a hole or cracks in roofs.
